The Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded FP&A Business Partner to join our Finance team in Melbourne.
Reporting to the GM FP&A, this role will partner closely with business leaders to drive strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement initiatives.
You will act as a trusted advisor across the business, providing forward-looking financial insights, commercial recommendations, and supportive challenge to influence decision-making and optimise business performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with business leaders to develop strategic business plans aligned with organisational objectives
- Lead target setting, budgeting, and forecasting processes across the business unit
- Provide commercial analysis and financial insights to support decision-making
- Develop business cases for investment, growth, and capital expenditure initiatives
- Conduct scenario modelling and financial analysis to assess business performance and opportunities
- Challenge assumptions and identify risks, efficiencies, and value-creation opportunities
- Prepare and present financial performance reporting to stakeholders and leadership teams
- Support strategic initiatives through data-driven recommendations and analysis
About You
You are a commercially astute finance professional with strong business partnering capability and a passion for influencing outcomes.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in understanding complex businesses, and an ability to confidently and succinctly communicate financial and commercial recommendations to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships across different functions in an organisation and influence commercial decisions
- Experience presenting complex financial information to non-financial audiences
- Strong analytical capability and experience in financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Strong understanding of financial performance drivers and commercial outcomes
- Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP and BI systems
- CA, CPA, or equivalent finance qualification
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively
- Experience within construction, property, or a related industry will be highly regarded
