The Role
You’ll manage the assessment of home loan applications from submission through to formal approval and solicitor instruction. Your day will include:
- Assessing loan applications in line with lender credit policies
- Reviewing credit history, income, and ability to repay
- Ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards
- Ordering valuations and following up on outstanding reports
- Preparing accurate solicitor instructions and verifying fees
- Maintaining clear, timely communication with brokers, lenders, and solicitors
- Keeping systems up to date with precise notes and application status
- Supporting continuous improvement in quality, compliance, and turnaround times
You
To be successful you must display sound knowledge of the mortgage lending process as well as a high level of customer service. You’ll be someone who thrives on detail, deadlines, and doing things properly the first time.
- Experience in credit assessment, lending, or loan processing
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy under pressure
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems
- Strong follow-up skills and a proactive mindset
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in home loans processing or mortgage assessment would be beneficial
