The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced hands-on Business Services Finance Lead with strong exposure to transformation initiatives or integration projects to join our Finance team based in Docklands, Melbourne.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a team of accounting professionals while ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, compliance, and accounting operations across a portfolio of businesses. You will play a key role in driving process improvements, enhancing financial controls, and supporting business performance through high-quality financial insights.
Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, you will contribute to the ongoing development of finance operations and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of finance professionals
- Oversee month-end and period-end accounting activities
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards
- Manage complex accounting processes including revenue recognition, leases, fixed assets, accruals and provisions
- Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliation activities
- Support cash flow forecasting and reporting processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes
- Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business performance
- Assist with audits, statutory compliance, and reporting requirements
- Support finance system enhancements and data governance initiatives
About You
You are a qualified finance professional who combines strong technical accounting capability with proven leadership experience. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can operate in an agile environment which pivots quickly as priorities evolve. You enjoy mentoring teams, building stakeholder relationships, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
To be successful, you will bring:
- CA, CPA or equivalent qualification
- Experience leading finance or accounting teams within a complex environment
- Strong financial accounting and reporting expertise
- Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience driving process improvement initiatives
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience (D365 highly regarded)
- collaborative and customer-focused approach to leadership
- Previous experience with ERP implementations, system integrations, and finance transformation will be highly valuable.
