ABN’s Finance team is currently undergoing an exciting transformation, with new leadership and a newly established team focused on driving positive change and continuous improvement.
As the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, you will oversee day-to-day operations across intercompany billing, cash applications, finance administration, and a small portfolio of external collections.
In addition to leading a high-performing team, you will play a key role in finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvement projects.
Working closely with the Accounts Receivable Manager, and Perth and Melbourne-based Team Leaders, as well as the broader Finance function, you will investigate operational challenges, identify root causes, and deliver sustainable solutions that improve efficiency, controls, and customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting ABN’s technology transformation, including D365 system enhancements and transition into a new operating software
- Leadership, mentoring, succession planning and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement with reward and recognition
- Leading AR billing & reconciliation operations to ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time
- Overseeing cash application, reconciliations, and financial adjustments to maintain ledger integrity
- Monitoring customer payment trends and proactively identifying potential credit risks or non-payment
- Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries efficiently and positively
- Supporting month-end close and audit activities through accurate reporting, documentation and reconciliation processes
- Driving process improvements to streamline workflows, enhance reporting accuracy and support scalable operations
- Partnering with stakeholders to review system workflows, recommend enhancements and support delivery of business improvement initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to automate, simplify and standardise processes to improve efficiency, controls and user experience
You
You’re a confident accounts receivable professional with a balance of technical expertise and leadership capability. You take pride in accuracy, enjoy mentoring others, and bring a proactive approach to solving challenges and improving processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring within an accounts receivable team
- Strong finance system technical capability, supporting AR accounting principles and ERP system configuration
- Experience participating in finance transformation, system implementation, or process improvement projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate process issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, audit processes, and financial adjustments
- Proven ability to review end-to-end workflows and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, controls, and customer outcomes
- Experience with complex data reporting, using tools such as Power BI, Excel macros, and AI-driven solutions (Highly regarded)
