The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team based in Docklands.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this role will provide operational expertise and support across the national AP function, while assisting with training, reporting, process improvement initiatives, and finance projects. You will play a key role in ensuring service levels and month-end deadlines are achieved, while supporting continuous improvement across AP operations.
This opportunity is well suited to an experienced AP professional who enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and working within a fast-paced and collaborative finance environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide support across Accounts Payable functions to maintain service levels, KPIs, and month-end deadlines
- Mentor and support junior team members through coaching, training, and process guidance
- Assist with Team Leader support and operational coverage when required
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, controls, and workflows
- Support finance system upgrades, enhancements, and optimisation initiatives
- Prepare and analyse AP reporting to support operational and leadership decision-making
- Assist with reconciliations, month-end activities, and broader finance tasks
- Work collaboratively across Finance, Operations, IT, and wider business teams
What You’ll Bring
You will be an experienced Accounts Payable professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys supporting team success while driving operational improvements.
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience within a high-volume Accounts Payable environment
- Strong Excel and finance systems experience
- Exposure to process improvement or systems enhancement initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- The ability to mentor, train, and support team members
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) will be highly regarded
