The Role

Reporting to the HSE Manager WA, you will assist with the continued development, implementation and administration of the ABN Group’s Safety Management System. In doing so, our “Work Safe Home Safe” ethos is enhanced through reducing exposure to risk and improving HSE standards.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Support HSE development capabilities in line with legislation and company policies
• Foster strong relationships with Building Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers, suppliers and contractors
• Drive collaboration to develop practical and effective solutions to site safety
• Coordinate and deliver safety training aligned with business needs
• Investigate HSE incidents and provide feedback to the HSE Manager
• Conduct site safety inspections and audits on ABN construction sites, as well as assist and coordinate external audits
• Assist with subcontractor management including documentation, audits, reviews and meetings
• Conduct and manage psychosocial risk assessments to support wellbeing across the workforce

About You:

• Minimum Cert IV in Safety or considerable practical safety experience (desirable)
• Strong understanding of HSE legislation and ability to translate this into practical safety solutions on site
• A passion for safety and an ability to influence key stakeholders
• Sounds understanding and experience in conducting incident investigations
• Ability to mentor, upskill and deliver training to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Ability and willingness to hold people accountable and conduct challenging conversations in a constructive manner
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage deadlines
• Comfortable working independently while staying connected to the broader HSE team
