The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O) Functional Specialist to be the primary functional lead for Finance processes. Working in close partnership with senior stakeholders, you’ll ensure the platform continues to meet business needs, supports operational excellence, and delivers ongoing value.

As the key link between Finance and IT, you will partner closely with stakeholders across the organisation to drive the Finance applications backlog, prioritise enhancements, and deliver continuous improvement across the D365 Finance platform. Success in this role requires a strong accounting background, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to build credibility as a trusted advisor while translating business needs into scalable and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary functional specialist for D365 Finance & Operations, supporting and optimising Finance processes and systems.
• Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand business priorities and translate requirements into effective solutions and enhancements.
• Own and drive the Finance applications backlog, prioritising work to maximise business value and operational efficiency.
• Lead requirements analysis, solution design, testing, and delivery of Finance system improvements.
• Provide expert support across core Finance processes, troubleshooting issues and coordinating resolutions with technical teams and vendors.
• Develop functional documentation, user guides, and training materials to support system adoption and ongoing capability uplift.
• Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and optimisation across the D365 Finance platform.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry certifications (finance-related qualifications a plus)
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, particularly finance modules
• Deep knowledge of core finance modules: GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, project accounting, and bank processes
• Experience delivering full-cycle D365 F&O implementations
• Strong background in business analysis or functional consulting within ERP environments
• Ability to analyse complex business requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside senior leaders
