The Role 

In this newly created role, you will support the Finance Business Services Manager with process standardisation, procedure establishment, and alignment with our evolving operating model. As a pivotal member of the Finance Business Services leadership team, the Finance Lead is integral to overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring precise financial information is delivered to key stakeholders at ABN Group.  

Key focuses of the role: 

  • Support the implementation of process standardisation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness   
  • Lead the Finance Business Services RTR (Record to Report) team to enhance the execution of accounting processes, supporting business management, planning, and decision-making 
  • Lead key accounting processes, including month end close and balance sheet reconciliation, to guarantee timely and accurate financial reporting, empowering the business with reliable data 
  • Motivate and guide the team, focusing on development and fostering a high-performance culture 
  • Improve the controls environment and efficiency of accounting procedures and processes, whilst ensuring adherence to accounting policies and standards 
  • Contribute to cash flow forecasting accuracy and improvement Collaboration with Finance Business Services leadership team to implement training and development programs   
  • Assist with financial reporting, finance master data management, and financial year end external audit process 

About You  

If you thrive in an environment focused on process standardisation, supporting continuous improvement and creating streamlined ways of working, we are looking for individuals who possess the following:  

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing Accounting teams  
  • A qualification in Finance or Accounting (CA, CPA or equivalent)  
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting standards, including Australian Accounting Standards 
  • Experience in intercompany accounting practices, fixed assets accounting, period-close procedures, and reconciliation processes 
  • Experience in managing change, stakeholder engagement, ensuring smooth transitions and maintaining team morale  
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI) 
  • Experience with finance master data management and data integrity controls 
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring team members to develop their potential growth 
  • Experience in working on ERP implementation and with Shared Services structures
