The Role  

We’re seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join our Group Finance team. In this key leadership role, you will: 

  • Lead the preparation of ABN Group’s consolidated statutory financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards 
  • Oversee the Group’s financial accounting, tax compliance, and governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory and internal policy alignment 
  • Manage all aspects of taxation including income tax, FBT, GST, and ATO audits, while delivering effective tax planning and governance reporting 
  • Own and maintain accounting and tax policies, and contribute to financial performance improvements and risk mitigation 
  • Lead corporate secretarial functions including ASIC compliance, entity management, and legal register maintenance 
  • Manage the external audit process, ensuring efficient collaboration with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Provide financial reporting and insights to the Executive team and Advisory Board, including strategic and ad-hoc reporting 
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team, supporting system improvement and data integrity across financial platforms (D365) 

Skills and Experience 

We’re looking for an experienced leader with demonstrated ability to manage change, work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive, can-do attitude. You'll also bring: 

  • CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) and a tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline 
  • Expert knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements 
  • In-depth understanding of the Income Tax Assessment Act, GST Act, FBT Act, and corporate taxation compliance 
  • Strong experience with group consolidations, audit management, and financial governance 
  • Leadership experience in managing high-performing finance teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change, work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive, can-do attitude 
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and reporting tools (D365 preferred) and Advanced Excel skills  
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, including reporting at Board level
