The Role 

As a Business Services Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial data. Working alongside Accountants and fellow Officers, you’ll support core accounting processes and ensure compliance with financial standards. 

This is a 12-month fixed-term position working full-time hours. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial and management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) 
  • Support accounting functions including revenue recognition, fixed assets, prepayments, accruals, and inventory 
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate records 
  • Contribute to financial inputs for business processes such as sales commissions  
  • Maintain and verify financial data integrity

About You 

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a solid foundation in transactional and management accounting, with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive mindset. You’re confident communicating financial concepts to stakeholders and thrive in a collaborative environment.  

You’ll also have: 

  • Good understanding of financial reporting concepts, with a developing knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards 
  • Experience with period-close procedures and intercompany reconciliations 
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to turn data into insights 
  • A continuous improvement mindset 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial software for journal processing and reporting 
  • Progression towards a finance or accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent) will be highly regarded
