The Role

As part of the Financial Business Services team, the Payroll Team Lead is a support for the management of daily operational execution of Payroll functions ensuring activities are delivered in a quality, timely, efficient and effective manner. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Payroll team to operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment whilst supporting a culture of excellence
  • Support the implementation of improvement plans for people, customer and systems, and standardisation of process, driving best proactive through continuous improvement and innovation
  • Provide input, support and leadership in delivering department operation plans and high levels of customer service
  • Manage key customer relationships and ensure all clients are serviced by a centralised team in a consistent and efficient manner
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements and support a robust and tested control environment
  • Define, implement and monitor key metrics and service level agreements for Payroll

You

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills/experiences:

  • Experience in managing teams, with an ability to train, coach and mentor employees through their development
  • An advocate of change with high levels of influence and motivation for self and others
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing and flexible environment
  • Previous experience in a high volume and fast paced Payroll environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset including process standardisation, automation and refinement
  • Moderate analytical skills leading to effective problem solving and decision making
  • Strong customer focus - excellent communicator, written, verbal and inter-personal
  • Ability to prioritise own and team’s workload with excellent time management skills
