About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trades Supervisor (Tiling) to join our Ceiling Solutions team, based in Perth, Western Australia.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a key role in supervising, mentoring and developing tradespeople across residential construction projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety and productivity are consistently achieved.

Working closely with our construction teams, site supervisors and tradespeople, you will be responsible for providing hands-on technical guidance, delivering on-the-job training and supporting the ongoing development of our tiling workforce, including tradespeople recruited from overseas.

This is an opportunity for an experienced tiling professional who is passionate about developing others, maintaining quality standards and contributing to the successful delivery of residential construction projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, mentor and provide hands-on training to wall and floor tiling tradespeople across residential construction sites.
  • Deliver practical training in surface preparation, waterproofing, tile installation, cutting, grouting, sealing and finishing techniques.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure all tiling activities comply with Australian Standards, manufacturer specifications and ABN Group quality requirements.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, constructive feedback and technical guidance to support the development of tradespeople.
  • Oversee daily site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and within required timeframes and budgets.
  • Conduct quality inspections, complete compliance documentation and maintain accurate training and progress records.
  • Promote and enforce workplace health and safety requirements, including site inspections, toolbox meetings and safe work practices.
  • Work collaboratively with construction supervisors, coordinators and management to support job scheduling, material availability and project delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and technical capability across the team.

About you

We are looking for an experienced tiling professional who brings strong technical knowledge, a commitment to quality workmanship and the ability to lead and develop others.

You will be someone who takes pride in your work, communicates effectively and enjoys sharing your knowledge and experience to support the success of the wider team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in wall and floor tiling within the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of tiling installation methods, materials, waterproofing requirements and Australian Standards.
  • A current White Card.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring or providing technical guidance to tradespeople.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and technical specifications.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • A proactive, approachable and supportive leadership style, with a genuine interest in developing others.
