About ABN Group

For over 45 years, ABN Group has been a leader in building, property and home finance. We have helped thousands of people realise the dream of home ownership, delivering over 100,000 homes across Western Australia and Victoria. From first homes to luxury builds, we’ve earned the trust of our community along the way.

About the role

We’re looking for a Finance Data Analyst to join our Finance Business Services team, based in our Docklands office in Melbourne.

This role sits at the intersection between Finance, Data and Technology. You will work closely with the General Manager – Business Services to define how financial operations performance is measured, reported and understood across the organisation.

Beyond financial operations report development, you'll help establish KPI frameworks, improve data quality and identify opportunities to automate and simplify financial operation processes working across Power BI, SQL, Excel, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and related technologies.

You’ll partner with Finance, System Accountants, Technology & Transformation teams to improve financial operations reporting, strengthen data quality and identify opportunities to simplify and automate the way we work.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine technical capability with strong stakeholder engagement, helping our Finance teams get more value from their data and reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards
  • Using SQL to query financial and operational data for financial operations reporting.
  • Building and maintaining Power BI data models, Power Query transformations and DAX measures
  • Gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into clear, scalable financial operations reporting solutions
  • Defining and maintaining financial operations KPI definitions, calculation logic and reporting requirements
  • Analysing D365 F&O data and connected data flows to identify practical improvements to financial operations metrics
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate reporting processes

About you

You’ll be an experienced data or reporting professional who enjoys getting into the detail while also understanding the bigger business picture. You’ll be comfortable working with Finance stakeholders, translating their needs into practical solutions and explaining complex data in a way that’s easy to understand.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Experience across data analytics, Finance reporting, business systems analysis, ERP reporting or a related field
  • Strong SQL capability, including querying, reconciling, analysing and validating data
  • Hands-on Power BI experience, including Power Query, DAX and data modelling
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports that turn business requirements into meaningful insights
  • Experience integrating, cleansing, transforming and validating data from multiple sources
  • A practical understanding of Finance data and processes, including general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and follow-through.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power Automate and modern Microsoft data technologies will be highly regarded.
