The Role

Reporting to the GTO Manager, you will work in a team of Training Managers to support our apprentices. This role will balance between working at our Leederville head office and visiting the apprentices on site. 

Key responsibilities of Training Manager role:

  • Coach, mentor and support our apprentices across the duration of their apprenticeship 
  • Recruitment and induction of new apprentices including time sheet and payroll entry
  • Co-ordinate the placement of work experience students from schools and colleges with appropriate on-site trainers
  • Maintain appropriate and accurate records relating to each apprentice
  • Conduct performance management meetings and processes as required
  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and champion apprentice safety and compliance
  • Work collaboratively with Host Trainers

You

We are seeking someone who has previously worked closely with apprentices or in a vocational training environment. Adaptability, leadership and curiosity, in particular the ability to relate to a diverse group of apprentices will see you succeed in this role.

Other skills and experiences include:

  • Knowledge or experience working with GTO, apprenticeships pathways and TAFE system
  • Leadership skills and ability to mentor and train people
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Knowledge and understanding of the building industry (desirable)
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • WA Drivers Licence
