The Role

The Pre-construction Administrator is there to support project teams during the planning phase. This role ensures smooth communication between design, drafting, estimating and contracts while managing timelines, documentation, and progress tracking. By streamlining processes and fostering collaboration, you’ll help set projects up for success before construction begins.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited too:

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support pre-construction planning and transition to construction
  • Assist with developing cost-effective, compliant project strategies, including value engineering and risk mitigation
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure approvals and scopes are ready for handover
  • Support procurement planning and supplier coordination to secure best-value outcomes
  • Help refine project designs for constructability, budget alignment, and feasibility
  • Contribute to process improvement by adopting new tools and staying informed on industry trends
  • Manage personal tasks effectively, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets
  • Uphold compliance standards and contribute to a positive customer experience and team culture

Skills and attributes which will make you successful for the role:

  • Experience in pre-construction, contracts or document control (desirable)
  • Familiarity with construction processes and terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction software (e.g. Procore, Buildertrend)
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of compliance, building codes and procurement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage conflict professionally
